Congratulations!
We think you will be well pleased with your AquaClear Multi Purpose Filter and its unique design that:
- Removes or reduces chlorine twice as long as other filters
- Reduces spotting and removes scale
- Reduces mineral build-up
Installing your AquaClear Multi Purpose Filter is simple if you follow these instructions:
Before starting, check all nuts and screws to make sure none have come loose during shipping. If loose, tighten securely with a 117” allen wrench or screwdriver
Faucet Mounting
For faucet mounting, attach the inlet half of the filter to the faucet and the outlet end to the hose.
Hose or Equipment Mounting
For hose or equipment mounting, attach inlet half of filter to hose. Screw outlet half into nozzle or leave open.
RV Mounting
For RV Mounting, Screw filter onto standard female RV water inlet. You will need to purchase an adapter if you have a male RV water inlet.
For the AquaClear Multi Purpose Filter to work properly on a RV, a pressure reducer must be installed in the water line prior to the AquaMate RV Filter. The pressure reducer should be rated at 45-50 pounds. Failure to install a pressure reducer prior to the filter will void the warranty.
Some RVs are originally equipped with a pressure reducer. As this reducer is in line AFTER the RV filter, it will not protect the filter. An additional pressure reducer must be positioned in the water line PRIOR to the filter.
Let water run through the filter for 2 to 3 minutes before first use.
The filter must be used with incoming water that has a maximum temperature of 100 Fahrenheit and a maximum pressure of 100 psi. Do not allow filter to freeze and do not drain filter as this will reduce the life of the media. When storing, place the filter in a zipper-type plastic bag to minimize water evaporation.
Do not use the filter with integrated shut-off levers or controls. Backup pressure could cause the unit to split.
Because the quality of influent water varies greatly, your filter occasionally may clog, lose water pressure, or leak. Clogging reduced water pressure should be alleviated immediately by following these steps:
- Remove filter from pipe or hose
- Open filter by unscrewing housing halves
- Rinse housing halves, pad and disk. Replace pad or disk if necessary.
- Reassemble.
If this does not solve the problem or if your filter is leaking from the middle, contact Customer Support: http://support.mercola.com
The filter is designed for use on a potable systems only. Do not allow to freeze. Do not use any type of sequestering agent ahead of the media. Its effectiveness will be reduced when used on municipal water systems that use chemicals such as polyphosphates to alleviate water problems caused by high iron content. Do not use with integrated shut-off valves that could cause the filter to split.
