Instructions for Countertop Water Filters

To install system:

Countertop Installation

  1. Unscrew aerator from kitchen faucet
  2. Replace the aerator with countertop filter’s diverter valve. Hand tighten. (If the diverter valve does not fit on your faucet, try using one of the enclosed adaptors. Or take aerator and diverter valve to your local hardware store to get the correct adaptor.)
  3. To activate filtration system, turn on cold water. While water is running, pull out stem on diverter valve. Allow water to flow through system for 5 minutes, or until water runs clear. This removes harmless carbon dust from the filtration system.
  4. To stop water flow to filtration system, turn off your faucet and stem will return to original position.

To Refill system:

Replace both cartridges after one year or when chlorine breaks through, whichever comes first. Fluoride-removal cartridge is in blue casing; the copper-zinc/ coconut-shell carbon cartridge is in clear casing.

  1. Turn filtration system upside down and unscrew bases from bodies. There will be water in housings.
  2. Remove old cartridges. Remove plastic wrapping from new cartridges.
  3. While housings are empty, lightly lubricate ‘O’ rings with petroleum jelly. Replace ‘O’ rings in grooves, making sure it is seated.
  4. Insert new cartridges in same direction as those removed.
  5. Replace base. Hand tighten. Reattach to faucet.

This unit is designed for countertop use only on chlorinated water supplies and must not converted to a permanent, constant pressure installation. It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

Maximum Water Flow: 1 gallon per minute
